I have been reading a lot of blogs (I'm had some extra time lately...thank you summertime!!) and this idea to start my own blog has been rolling around in my head for a while now. I get frustrated a lot of the time because I feel like I see all of these AWESOME ideas for lower level teachers, but not much for the higher levels (Part of me wishes I had become an elementary school teacher just for the cute stuff hehe). Soooooo, while I was watching the Olympics today (Go USA!!!) I decided that I was going to try it...blogging that is.
Now, you might be asking yourself "What is this blog even about??" so here are my thoughts/goals/expectations:
1. Focus on organization (some people might say I have OCD)
2. Share ideas for math teachers - I just feel like there aren't enough and I am passionate about making kids passionate about math. I seriously take it personally when people talk badly about math :(
3. Share ideas for high school teachers - not just ones that pertain to math
4. Share the randomness that is my life as a teacher.
So that's that.
So, my first tip/idea is that if you don't already know about Pinterest you should definitely check it out. I found it last summer and immediately fell in love. SO. MANY. GOOD. IDEAS!!!! I use it for like every aspect of my life. If you already have an account, there is a button to the right where you can follow me. If you don't already have an account, seriously sign up (you just better be prepared to spend hours going through different ideas!!).
Can you tell that I love exclamation points and caps lock?
Anyway, now that you know a little bit more about me and about what I hope for this blog to become I hope you keep coming back :)
Just spent some time reading your entire blog. As an upcoming new teacher for high school, your tips were great. Like you said there are so few resources for high school teachers! Thanks for writing!
